Hey guys, so last week I went to EB Live in Auckland. My girlfriend urged me to come with her after reading the tagline “New Zealand’s own E3” at an EB Games store in Queen St. I was skeptical of this promise, but decided it had the potential to be a fun night.
I wasn’t able to capture much footage or take many photo’s so you’ll have to use your imagination for the most part. Upon arriving, we were ushered into a large room that seemed to be a hybrid of a conference hall and a movie theater. The event lasted around 2 and a half hours, with various representatives from EB Games Australia and New Zealand coming on stage to present their findings from E3 2016. We were shown a multitude of trailers ranging from the imminent Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
Then after a brief discussion with the audience (to gage the excitement over the varying titles), we were shown the overwhelmingly varied special editions and collectors editions on offer. After the end of the event I got a chance to talk to a few individuals such as the incredibly friendly, Xbox representative, Jason Spiller.
I was pleasantly surprised by EB Live. It was an entertaining and engaging way to highlight some upcoming titles, and a way to bring together people passionate about this medium.
