This is the personal blog of Chris Bowring. He started it as a semi-professional, video game enthusiast, content creator / university student. He went through a few awkward years where he interviewed game developers on podcasts, wrote political commentaries and championed the need for mental health awareness. Now he's teamed up with some other guys, started this company, and talks in the third person. It is an undeniable fact that fighting games sell extremely well. Despite this, Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat are all niche products. Yes the communities built around them support them in mass, but most gamers are wary of the genre. Many like myself are intimidated by the expansive roster of previous titles, the inherently odd Japanese style and the intricate web of combos to learn.

A little while back we collaborated with Goomba Stomp in the creation of a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate wish list. We argued that the Coon from South Park would be a hilarious and fitting addition to the roster. However we’ve got a few other recommendations for characters we’d love to see join the franchise at some point.
Why the hell would anyone release a 2017 ‘Game of the Year’ list… in June 2018? Not only is everyone done with last year, but people are already discussing game of the year contenders for 2018. Well we here at Quiet Stories never got round to it, and we actually have a unique set of choices.
